Reason

"Which one would you prefer? To love or be loved?" one asked.

"To love," the other answered quietly.

"Why?" It wasn't an answer one had expected.

"Does someone need a reason to love someone else?" the other asked in return with unreadable expression.

"I don't think so," one whispered, smiling.

The other smiled back.
